Kakazai heritage
Muhammad Ali Aizaz belongs to the Kakazai, also known as Loi Mamund, a Pashtun tribe whose historical roots are associated with Laghman in Afghanistan and Bajaur in present-day Pakistan. The family identifies this heritage as an important source of continuity, resilience and public responsibility.
Ghulam Nabi Malik
Family records describe Muhammad Ali Aizaz’s great-grandfather, Ghulam Nabi Malik, as an educationist, artist, architect and public administrator. He is remembered as the first Pakistani principal of the Mayo School of Arts, now the National College of Arts in Lahore, serving during the early years after independence.
